A wonderfully kitschy vintage salt and pepper shaker set styled as miniature German beer steins. Each ceramic shaker features colorful raised figures in traditional German dress against a deep cobalt blue background, with warm amber and cream accents and shiny silver-tone glazed lids.
“Wiesbaden” is hand lettered around the upper portion of each shaker, making this a fun piece of vintage German souvenir ware. The two shakers have coordinating but different figural designs, including a man in traditional Alpine-style clothing and another figure holding a large beer stein.
Each shaker is complete with its handle and pointed stein-style lid. The bottoms have their original cork stoppers.
These would make a great addition to a collection of vintage German pottery, beer steins, European travel souvenirs, or quirky vintage kitchenware. They also display beautifully as a pair.
Condition: Vintage condition with age-related wear throughout. There is visible crazing to the glaze, particularly on the cream-colored areas, along with some wear and discoloration to the silver-tone glaze and minor surface wear consistent with age and use.
