Two are dressed as Santa Claus with painted black belts and gold buckles, while the remaining four have long white painted beards. Their simple closed-eye expressions, tiny red mouths and wonderfully imperfect hand-painted details give the group loads of character.

The figures stand on small black wooden feet attached with tiny metal pins. One doll is marked “JAPAN” on the underside.

These are especially fun displayed together—the variations in shape, facial expression and paint make them feel like a little collection of Christmas characters.
